Checked into Mandarin Oriental Bangkok
Behind-The-Scenes of an upcoming video with Harper’s Bazaar
Embarked on a whirlwind 3 days in Bangkok with MICHAEL KORS over the past few days for their Spring 2018 Asia Pacific Press Day. The trip started with a full day video shoot with Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, where we got the chance to work with an A-Star team that consisted of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore’s Editor-in-Chief Kenneth Goh (@kennieboy), and Melbourne-based fashion videographer Muc (@iammuc). We had tons of street food (Thai Milk Tea, Quail Egg Wanton, Dragonfruit, Pomelo, you name it), nearly got ourselves into an accident attempting to cross through the Bangkok traffic, sneaked onto rooftops… all for the video. I can’t wait to share the final product once it’s out!
The day was followed by a glamourous dinner at Sala Rim Naam right across our hotel Mandarin Oriental, and I finally got to meet Malaysian influencer Jojo Goh, and reunited with Anastasia (@anazsiantar) from Indonesia. Imagine Tom Yam Goong, Yellow Curry, and Thai-Styled Seabass over Muay Thai and Dance Performances, and oh, insert playing around with Kira Kira/ Snow on our phones and laughing ourselves silly over the filters – check out my Instagram Highlights to know what I mean.
Spring 18’s presentation was first on our agenda the next day (after a relaxing massage at Yunomori Onsen the night before). As you can tell from the runway looks showcased in September during New York Fashion Week, and the presentation at W Bangkok, the MICHAEL KORS’ Spring 18 collection is “all about ease”. The clothes were inspired by Michael’s very own trips to Malibu and Bora Bora, hence the Sarongs/ Kimonos/ Laid-Back Jackets in Chiffon/ Linen Gauze/ Georgette, with tints of Rosewater/ Wisteria/ Cornflower. My favourites? A white halter neckline dress, and a full lilac look featuring a linen oversized jacket with a flowy georgette top and lazy midi culottes. For the bold and adventurous soul, the monochromatic tropical-palm print will be perfect for an island getaway.
The MICHAEL MICHAEL KORS Collection will drop in our Singapore stores soon – taking inspiration from the easy-breezy resort theme as seen in the main collection line, we can expect an ensemble of white and navy hues in polka-dotted and floral jacquard. There will be several matching sets in this collection too: look effortlessly glamourous in a two-piece set, or go casual by splitting them up. I’m really excited for the accessories to arrive too: there’s a weaved basket bag and a pair of espadrille wedges I have my eyes on. Keep a lookout for the MICHAEL MICHAEL KORS Collection at the Mandarin Gallery and Marina Bay Sands stores!
Sending love to the MICHAEL KORS team for planning such a wonderful and fun trip to Bangkok, what a perfect destination to eat, play, shop, and on top of all of that, work. x
