“Office-Lady (OL)”… you and I both! There are many different types of dress-codes depending on your industry and/ or office environment, in this post we present to you our take on them!

In the DC Office, I take a more “be comfortable” approach to dressing. Our office is quite homely in terms of decor and layout, so on days we don’t have meetings, or on days when we all just need to hustle and have our hair up high in a bun, the girls and I come in denim shorts/ home shorts/ or as Daphnie calls it, her “Balinese Resort” pants. Of course, when we have guests over for meetings, or if we have events that particular day, everyone has to be dressed appropriate to the occasion!

For the creative or the co-working space user, get multiple wears out of a basic denim dress like this one. Wear it over a white t-shirt or a long-sleeved striped top, throw on a leather jacket or a cardigan, bags are choices aplenty (check out this roomy Pedro tote bag for your trusty laptop!), , and you can go for flats, sneakers, or wedges for footwear!

If you have a sleeveless dress but don’t want to come across too casual, throw on a blazer to give you more structure and a sense of formality! If your outfit’s colour-scheme appears too plain or muted, carry a statement bag to give your outfit a little pop of colour!

Who says you have to wear black and grey for formal occasions? Opt for dresses with darker hues and simple patterns – like this checked print. Let your bags and shoes do the talking – but keep them coordinated so you still look polished and smart.

Jacket – Style Theory
Top – Mango
Pants – Uniqlo
Bag – Zara
Shoes – Mango

It’s the end of the week and you want an outfit that can take you from the office to a nice night out with your girlfriends. Starting from the jacket, I paired it with a turtleneck in a similar colour to give the look a stylish and sleek vibe. I chose a pair of white cigarette trousers to balance the darker tones on my upper body. If you want a smarter look, tie your hair in a low bun, ditch the jacket, and swap these shoes with black pumps. Done!
