A few weeks ago, we were invited to Seoul for the launch of Dior Backstage, a new makeup line helmed by Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup. As the name of this collection suggests, this makeup line drew inspiration from the professionals “backstage” at the fashion shows, and “includes all [of Peter’s] essentials in neutral shades with professional, adjustable formulas, allowing you to work with every skin tone.”
Debuting 40 universal shades with their Face and Body Foundation (of which a curation of 21 Asian-friendly shades are launched in Singapore), and releasing a 13-Make Up Brush set, 2 Eye Palettes, 2 Brow Palettes, a Glow Palette, a Contour Palette, and a Lip Palette that can help create almost any runway look seamlessly, this is one collection you need to get your hands on! During the Masterclass held by Peter Philips himself in Seoul, he explained he felt the need to redesign makeup essentials so that they would be easy and intuitive for professionals and the modern woman alike.
What I love about this collection is how every product has been thought out so well. The Face & Body foundation has shades ranging from cool, cool rosy, neutral, to warm, warm peach, and warm olive. The buildable foundation is built to last especially because of its waterproof formula, which is really taking into consideration our Singapore weather.
The other product you need to look out for is the Dior Backstage Glow Palette, which I cannot stop raving about to everyone. It is all-in-one blusher, bronzer, and highlighter, and it is richly pigmented. Take a gentle swipe at the palette and you’ll realise how concentrated it is. There’s also a light and fine shimmer so you can go from a natural to a sophisticated look easily. The palettes are all really compact and lightweight, so you don’t have to fuss over bringing too many products out with you.
After the Masterclass, it was party time with Bella Hadid and Kiko Mizuhara in-attendance! Shilin was also pretty stoked that Korean pop singers Zion T. and Sunmi performed live!
Once again, thank you Dior for a very fun day spent in Seoul, and while you’re in Seoul, do check out the Dior Café located in their Apgujeong-ro flagship boutique!
