The G2000 Fall 2019 Collection hits stores this month. Designed for the cosmopolitan woman (the campaign is titled “Curated for The City”), the collection sees essential workwear items in upgraded silhouettes and styles.  Stripes, Wales Check, Tartan, and Houndstooth textures are key details in this collection too. Knowing we were heading to Seoul for a work trip, I decided to curate 4 looks inspired by Seoulistas, and another 4 looks inspired by the Singaporean woman!

I show you how I’ve styled the new collection in this article, and if you would like to get up close and personal with these pieces, I’m hosting a styling session on the 30th August at G2000 VivoCity – scroll to the end to find out more details!

Tartan and Houndstooth

Knowing how Koreans don’t mind playing with colours, I thought to pair this G2000 Tartan Pleated Skirt with an Orange Button-Down Sweater, both from the Fall Collection. To top off the look, I paired it with a Knotted Bow Hairband I got from Seoul (APM Place Basement 1).

There are so many ways to style a Houndstooth jacket like this. If a sports bra is not appropriate for work, try a round-neck cotton tee, or a sleeveless turtleneck as pairing options. This structured skirt is both great for casual and formal events, if you get the chance to try this skirt on, you’ll definitely appreciate its material and workmanship!

Neutral Does It

If you prefer whites and earthy-tones in your wardrobe, these are 3 items you MUST get, not just because they are from G2000 Fall 2019, but because they are great essentials to have and to hold regardless the season.

For instance, the brown dress can be a weekend outfit when you slip on a pair of white sandals; the white top can be worn with jeans, white culottes, or any A-line midi skirt you own. The brown version of the skirt above can go with a tank, a tee, or a collared shirt.

From Pastel Pink to Bold Burgundy

When we were at the G2000 office to preview the collection, this pink set was an immediate meeting-room favourite. The turtle neck is lightweight enough for Singapore weather (it may actually come in handy if your office is FREEZING like ours), and the matching trousers are not too “pink” for work. Even one of my best friends Charlotte loved the pants when I sent her pictures!

Co-ord Blazer/ Trouser sets are a common feature in my clothes rack. Wear them together to look instantly polished, or event-ready. To get more wears from your co-ords, split them up and wear them separately. This blazer interestingly does not come with a button, so if you want to wear it alone, you have to secure it with the sash. Otherwise, it’s meant to be worn loosely with an inner top.

Legs For Days

Some days are skirt days, the others, suited for long comfy trousers that feel so soft. While I normally opt for high-waisted trousers, these low-waist G2000 trousers somehow still have that elongating effect! You have to find a pair that suits you best, and there are many various types of trousers in-store: low-rise/ high-rise, slim-cut/ wide-cut, cropped/ non-cropped. Find one that suits your body type!
