With everyone’s increasingly hectic lifestyles and motivation to hustle (new year new you), getting 8 hours of sleep and drinking 8 glasses of water may not necessarily be the top priority. The sad but inevitable trade-off? Dark under eyes, hyperpigmentation, blemishes and all that unwanted jazz. Enter: concealers — the one-way ticket to achieving a better complexion despite living in the hustle era. Don’t get me wrong — we are very much in favour of feeling comfortable enough to leave the house bare-faced but on days where we yearn for the perfect complexion, concealers are our best friends.

Last year, Urban Decay added another member to their set of makeup staples– the Stay Naked Correcting Concealer. This product is said to be a ‘lightweight, breathable and waterproof formula’ with ‘up to 24-hour coverage’. It can effectively correct the look of any imperfections, leaving our skin looking flawless and radiant. In today’s #ShebyDC, we let 3 girls try out this coverup product. Ahead, their unfiltered thoughts.

Skin concern: Dark eye circles

Shade: 30 NN

“30NN is a shade that is suitable for highlighting my face and covering up dark circles. The doe-foot applicator has a small surface area which makes the process of concealing much more precise.

The product has medium coverage and feels really lightweight on my skin. As such, it did not sink into my fine lines or create patches throughout the day. My t-zone tends to get oily but thus concealer still managed to stay on my face without it being rubbed off.”

Skin concern: Uneven skin tone, redness, scarring

Shade: 40 NY

“This concealer has a rich and creamy texture. Due to its slightly thicker consistency (not to say it’s heavy because my skin still felt breathable), a little more effort is needed to work the concealer seamlessly into the skin (I use a Real Techniques blender).

While it claims to provide a matte finish, the product revealed a slight sheen upon application, which I preferred as it gives a natural, skin-like look. I also loved that the concealer helped to smooth out my skin’s texture.

I’ll top my face off with a pressed powder/translucent loose powder. However, I did notice that even after setting my makeup, my face would look more oily by the end of a 12-hour day (no touch-ups throughout the day). I don’t particularly mind this, but someone who has really oily skin might not be a fan.”

Skin concern: Dark eye circles

Shade: 40 NN

“This concealer has managed to effectively conceal and brighten my under eyes. It feels really lightweight, isn’t drying and yet offers really good coverage. I also like how the applicator also helps to blend the product smoothly onto my face.

After 12 – 14 hours, the concealer still managed to stay on without creasing or breaking down. It also didn’t feel cakey which is a plus point! I recommend setting your concealer with the Urban Decay’s Setting Spray to really make it last throughout the day.”

Available in 12 different shades, the Urban Decay Stay Naked Correcting Concealer (S$40) is a good option for those in search of a lightweight and breathable coverup product. It may not physically remove your dark eye circles or discolourations but sure can make you look like they were never even there in the first place.

With Love,

Steph
