When we first moved into our home, Imran insisted on having his own private study – so I had to very reluctantly sacrifice my dreams of having a guest room. I figured I didn’t need a dedicated space to work from since I usually spend a lot of time in the office during the weekdays, and I could work from the dining table if I wanted to. Fast forward a month into the Circuit Breaker and I reached my boiling point – I’ve had enough of working from the dining table!!! I had to clear my laptop and documents every evening for dinner, I didn’t have a chair that had good back support, and I didn’t even have a desk lamp to give me sufficient lighting! While Imran was working from the comforts of his study, I was attempting to get used to a “new normal” in a space that didn’t allow me to be conducive. Having had enough, I set out to shop for my own work station – I started with a desk from Rooma, a chair from FortyTwo, and assembled a work station I can be proud (and happy) to work from!

Table from Rooma, Chair from FortyTwo, IT Gadgets from Shopee and Creative (listed below)

Stationery and Wireless Charger from Shopee.

Having spent countless of days – weeks even – scouring through furniture brands, I would recommend going to FortyTwo or Comfort Design if you are looking for chairs (dining, study, bar stools, etc.) and affordable office furniture. Shopee is a great marketplace for tech gadgets and stationery – the phone table stand and wireless charger you see on my desk are from Shopee and they cost less than $10 each!

I’ve included a list of items below to help you work well at home, you can also explore more in the Home and Electronics categories at ShopUOB, and get exclusive deals with your UOB Card!

Comfort Design: Shoggi Coffee Table

Creative iRoar Go

When I'm alone at home, I tend to put on my favourite songs on the speaker out loud to get the adrenaline going! I came across these iRoar Go speakers at a photoshoot once and was so impressed with how the portable speakers filled up the whole studio! UOB Cardmembers get up to 60% off selected Creative products. Valid till 31 Jul 2020, for products listed on Creative x UOB campaign page only.
