Welcome to the brand new The DC Edit, formerly known as my namesake dreachong.com
It just hit me that I’m saying goodbye to something that was such a big part of me for 6 years, but it is time to move on… in a better, bigger, more meaningful way!
In essence, The DC Edit is a website dedicated to the independent, the curious, and the adventurous woman. We aim to be your go-to site for the latest in BEAUTY and FASHION, equipped with tutorials and tips. We celebrate female role models through our CAREER column, and we want to generate eye-opening, healthy discussions through our PERSPECTIVES pieces.
The website rebrand had to happen for several reasons.
Firstly, I am only one person. It is impossible for me to review every single newly-launched product, neither can I review 5 moisturisers at one go. This is a platform for other writers and contributors to offer their perspectives. If you would like to contribute, head to our Hiring page.
Secondly, there’s a need for diversity of opinion. I want to hear, see, read AUTHENTIC beauty and fashion reviews from REAL women. Not just genuine responses, but responses that cater to different age groups, body shapes, skin tone, etc. Our #ShebyDC segment – where we get our followers and readers to review beauty products – was created for that purpose. If you would like to get involved, head to our FAQ segment on our Contact page.
Thirdly, I want to grow a community that can exist beyond me. A group of women who can come together regularly to share and learn new skills or acquire new knowledge. Our upcoming Workshops & Community Sessions hosted at our new space aims to do that.
This is just the tip of the iceberg and I know we can do so much more – with your help! We hope you like the new design of the new site, and I hope you can be a part of our vision too.
