There are many hair dryers out there in the market, and we are spoilt for choice. It’s convenient to just pick one with the highest power at the most affordable price. But what if I told you that there’s a Hair Dryer that moisturizes your hair, cares for your scalp and even hydrates your skin too?

In today’s article, I talk about the latest in hair drying technology – as seen in Panasonic’s EH-NA98 Premium Hair Dryer. The EH-NA98 is equipped with moisture-rich nanoeTM treatment. nanoeTM are ultrafine particles of water that penetrate hair through extremely small openings in the cuticle and then tighten the cuticle, preventing the dryness that causes damage to hair or lack of hydration in our skin. Another great thing about nanoeTM is it makes it easier for water to mix with the sebum present in our skin, so it can be easily washed away, this also helps to remove excess oil that eventually leads to an oily and smelly scalp.

Hair Care

There are 5 temperature settings on the hair dryer – one each for your Hair (Hot, Cold or Alternating), Scalp and Skin – and 3 power levels. To dry your hair, switch to the strongest power level, and start drying evenly from your roots to the ends. The nanoeTM ultrafine water ions will easily penetrate hair, keeping your hair follicles hydrated while drying them at the same time.

Once your hair is 75% dry, with the push of a button, you can activate the EH-NA98 Intelligent Temperature Control Mode, the hair dryer then alternates between hot and cold temperatures. Cold air is useful to prevent “over-drying” of hair follicles and helps to lock in the shine of your hair. According to Kate Middleton’s hairstylist, “cold water helps seal the hair cuticle shut again for extra glossy, shiny locks!”

Scalp

As mentioned earlier, an unhealthy oily scalp can cause many hair concerns like dandruff and smelly hair. It is thus important to take care of your scalp – I know many of us just focus on the mid-end sections of our hair and neglect the scalp and roots.

Beauty tip: To give your scalp some TLC, use hairstylist-to-the-stars Jen Atkin’s OUAI Scalp Scrub (the scrub is compounded with gentle exfoliating sugar crystals to cleanse and soften skin while providing your skin with a dose of probiotics), then switch to the “Scalp” mode on the EH-NA98 hair dryer. The temperature will instantly drop to 50°C, a more suitable temperature for your scalp, this coupled with the nanoeTM technology, you can say hello to a healthier hydrated scalp!

Skin

This next feature makes the EH-NA98 unique. nanoeTM  has a coating effect on sebum present on the surface of skin, and this results in a moisturising effect.

Activate the lowest power, and switch to the “Skin” mode, use the dryer for 1 minute on your skin! Don’t forget to apply moisturiser and sunscreen before you head out!

The EH-NA98 retails for $399 and is available in major electronic and departmental stores.
