Did anyone say pasta party?! Here’s a simple shell pasta recipe that you can whip up in 30 minutes or less (a great recipe to turn to if you are planning to host a lunch or dinner but have no time to cook an elaborate meal!) – The idea of a shell pasta dish came about because I was craving pasta and the grocery store only had shell pasta in stock. I have never cooked shell pasta, and I figured it would be a good opportunity to try a new pasta dish out! Since then I have cooked this dish multiple times – its creamy tomato base is very hard to resist.

In this article, I’ve also included a list of cookware items that I reckon will be useful in your kitchen, you can explore more home and living options at ShopUOB, and get exclusive deals with your UOB Card.

Ingredients:

250g Large Pasta Shells
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
400g Premium Minced Beef
1/2 Yellow Onion (Diced)
2 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
1 1/2 Teaspoons Pasta Herb Spice Blend (or any herb blend of your choice)
2 Tablespoons Flour
2 Cups Beef Stock
1 can Tomato Sauce (or 2 Tablespoons Tomato Paste mixed with water)
1/2 Cup Thickening Cream
Salt and Pepper

1. Boil the pasta in a pot of water (add 1 tablespoon of salt to water), simultaneously cook the beef with olive oil.

2. Once beef and pasta are done: In a pan, sauté the add the diced onions, herb blend, and minced garlic together, until onions turn slightly translucent.

3. Add flour, beef stock, tomato sauce, and thickening cream into the pan ingredient by ingredient. Once it comes to boil, add the pre-cooked minced beef. Add salt and pepper to taste.

4. Garnish with shredded cheddar and dill tips. Serve!
