No Masks Outdoors = New Foundation Alert!

As we rid off makeup-to-mask transfer woes, we introduce the newest HD SKIN Foundation by Make Up For Ever – a new long-wear foundation for flawless skin and an ultra-natural finish, available to people of all skin tones with 40 shades ranging from light to deep shades.

Over at the DC Edit, we believe that foundation can be for anyone – and so does Make Up For Ever! They designed this foundation to cater to people of all skin types – normal, dry, acne prone, you name it. So we put the HD SKIN foundation to the test on 3 members of our #ShebyDC Community – Moe Yin, Havel and Su Shin, with different skin types and we get to take a look at the before and after!

About Moe Yin:

Moe Yin is a University undergrad here in Singapore, which means her daily routine doesn’t usually consist of foundation. A quick eye look with brows, eyeshadow and eyeliner liner), and she is out the door, leaving the use of foundations for special occasions, if she needs it (as foundations seem to be causing her to break out quite a bit).

Skin Type and Concerns: Normal-Oily & Acne Prone / Clogged Pores

Results: Effortless Coverage!

Moe Yin’s Review:

“First impression of the foundation was that it has really high coverage and is lightweight. I was so happy that it covered my acne scars and redness so easily! One downside for me is that it did transfer onto my mask, but other than that, it worked really well for me!’

Pro Tip: One way to ensure no mask transfer is to set the foundation with the Ultra HD Setting Powder and the Mist & Fix Setting Spray. “I only applied the foundation and there was some transfer but once I tried the setting powder and setting spray, it did not transfer at all!”

Rate: 4/5 – Definite Use for Special Occasions!

About Havel:

Also a university undergraduate, Havel’s makeup routine is pretty similar to Moe Yin’s such that foundation is not a must everyday. Instead she uses the bare minimum (eye liner, mascara, brows, lip gloss and blush) to get her through her busy days of school and work!

Skin Type and Concerns: Combination (Oily at the T zone) / Breakouts and Scarring

Results: A huge difference without actually feeling like it!

Havel’s Review:

“The foundation felt really lightweight and smooth on my face which I really loved! I typically only use foundations on special nights out, but this foundation felt super non-existent as I went through my day!”

Rate: 3.5/5 – Would Highly Recommend!

About Su Shin:

Su Shin is all about giving back – what with being a youth leadership and self development trainer! Her go-to makeup routine consists of a little bit of foundation and concealer, some lip balm and eyebrows.

Skin Type and Skin Concerns: Combination, Acne Scars and Sensitive Skin

Results: Perfect Shade match!

Su Shin’s Review:

“The shade finder online gave me my exact shade that fits my skin tone really well, plus it is really easy to blend! I usually prefer a more natural finish on my foundations so that was a down for me as this foundation was both matte and natural.”

Rate: 3/5 – Loved the shade range!

Overall, we would say the Make Up For Ever HD SKIN Foundation is a definite must have for special occasions or even for your everyday makeup (with careful application) to prevent too much coverage! We hope this review helped you in deciding which foundation to get for the long-awaited “no-mask outdoors” season!
