We took a little break in the month of March but are officially back with another round of DC Community Workshops! This April, we want to make the most out of our socially distanced situation. Instead of being cooped up alone in your room and watching everyone else’s lives through the windows of Instagram, we seek to gather our DC Community (virtually) to learn something new and meaningful together!
About DC Community Workshops
DC Community Workshops will be an online workshop series which sets out to teach the DC Community some practical life skills. From the steps you would need to take when building your own e-commerce store, down to the simple things such as creating your very own job resume, we will be engaging experts from each of various fields to break down these seemingly daunting processes and make it comprehensive for all.
Workshop #1: Setting Up Your Own E-Commerce Store with Denise
To kickstart this online workshop series, we have Denise, Denise is a website developer and co-founder of Hello Pomelo, a web design agency. In this workshop, she will be giving you a crash course on almost everything you need to know before setting up your own e-commerce store. Denise will be starting off by breaking down some of the more complicated coding jargon (know the difference between your SEO, SSL and CMS), followed by the pros and cons of the different hosting platforms.
Whether the thought of setting up your own business is an active seed planted in your head, or if you are simply seeking some inspiration amidst all the uncertainty, we hope that you’ll learn a thing or two through this workshop.
It would also be useful if you load up the slides while watching the video so you can follow along! Click here to download a condensed version of the workshop slides.
